Best beaches in Oaxaca

If you didn’t already know, the beaches in Oaxaca can offer you a host of wonderful and numerous styles and sea-filled adventures.

In this article, we are going to take a closer look at some of them.

For anyone who likes to spend their time with the sand between their feet, then you might just find this to be the ideal place to start.

Playa Zipolite

Fun for everyone, and yes, there are many things to do in Oaxaca but, if you aren’t into the celebration of “the boy” I suggest avoiding Playa Zipolite. The nude beach here is pretty big and, uh, pretty out there!

If you’re knowingly traveling to the Puerto Angel area of Oaxaca, you may not find it surprising all at.

If not you’ll find there’s not a huge deal of notice for the shy. You might just find yourself surrounded by a touch more flesh than expected!

So don’t be so surprised when you are the only one wearing your trusty travel shorts or speedos on that day.

Playa Zicatela

One thing I would say about the Playa Zicatela which is a top Puerto Escondido beach is that it has waves that can be pretty high.

I’d recommend maybe playing it safe if you are not the most adept swimmer, or if you are not the most athletic.

If you come here with children, be sure to remain vigilant due to those high waves. Depending on where you’re traveling from, you’ll also find that closeby Mazunte is full of hippie-type travelers, if that’s your vibe.

Familiarize yourself with bus travel in Mexico and you can take an overnight bus here from Oaxaca city.

Playa La Entrega

The amazing quality of Playa La Entrega is the richness and the quality of water, a must for me to be able to fully enjoy this Mexican coastline.

If you were to choose one of the many beaches in Oaxaca to try out for snorkeling, this might just be it.

Located in the heart of Huatulco Oaxaca Playa La Entrega is a fantastic place to start out when you want to try snorkeling. The water here is almost pristine.

🔗 Forgetting Something!?

Playa Bachocho

Bring your best travel camera for capturing footage: Playa Bachocho is among the most beautiful beaches in Oaxaca you’re likely to encounter.

The quality of the beach is special, and you’ll find all manner of life walking around.

From awesome people to amazing animals, you’ll have little if any problem enjoying yourself here; be sure to have plenty of memory in your camera!

Playa San Augustin

Try and be respectful when visiting Playa San Augustin, please. There’s been a lot of trouble in the past with disrespecting the landscape and not being kind enough to the local area.

As such, people are a touch less patient than they once were with tourists. You’ll be fine, but just be extra-careful to play by the rules.

Playa Santa Cruz

The people of Playa Santa Cruz, which is located in Huatulco are wonderfully friendly. This makes it very easy to settle in and have some fun.

Be sure to check out the various little secrets, from the awesome church to the famous local stories and legends.

Well worth your time; one of the more conversational beaches in Oaxaca, with plenty of people eager to have a chat when you’re around.

Make sure you carry some provisions with you, I usually carry a beach backpack which can fit some beach essentials in.

Best beaches in Oaxaca: Where next?

Overall, you should have little to no problems enjoying yourself across the many beaches in Oaxaca. Where will you choose to go?

I love this region, and with various things to do in Puerto Escondido I recommend that you try to make time for them all.

Some of these beaches are just exemplary, and the beaches in Oaxaca are one of the main reasons to visit in the first place!

All, though, offer loving hospitality and kindness in abundance.

If you really do want to have a great time, I suggest that you take a look at one of the many beaches in Oaxaca listed above: you’ll love it!
